The Shops at Sunset Place Brings a Little Holiday Cheer to Local Children

Christmas came a few days early for very deserving children in our community. The Shops at Sunset Place hosted over 30 underprivileged children from our community to enjoy a day of movies, play time, lunch and presents.

Sunset Place and the City of South Miami worked with the non-profit organizations South Miami Alliance for Youth, the Police Athletic League, the City of South Miami Winter Camp and Voices for Children to make this event possible.

The children were treated to a private screening of the new Alvin & The Chipmunks movie at AMC Theatres, and then they headed to

GameTime for lunch, followed by playtime at the dozens of games the venue offers.

Before parting, all the children received goodie bags with gift cards.
A special thanks to City of South Miami Commissioner Josh Liebman and City Manager Steven Alexander for taking part in this special event that brought a little holiday cheer to children in South Miami and its surrounding communities.
